Gausepohl graduates from flight school

Second Lt. Christopher D. Gausepohl of Fallbrook graduated from United States Air Force Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) on March 2.

The ENJJPT program was conceptualized in 1973 by a group of European nations with the goal of improving NATO collaboration and reducing the cost of pilot training. The United States joined the crusade in 1974 and subsequently provided a host site for the program at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas. The 13 nations currently participating in the program are Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Chosen for this top flight school upon his graduation from the Air Force Academy in June 2005, Gausepohl went into training after earning his Bachelors of Science in civil engineering and serving as Squadron Commander for Squadron 34 – the “Loose Hawgs.” He has now been assigned to fly the B-1b Bomber and will be based in Abilene, TX.

Gausepohl, a 2001 graduate of Fallbrook High School, is the son of Dave and Laura Gausepohl of Fallbrook.
