Blodgett new director of Fallbrook Chorale

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Chorale has announced that Art Blodgett has been welcomed as the group’s new director.

Blodgett, who has resided in Fallbrook with his wife, Debbie, since 1993, retired as senior pastor of Community Baptist Church in December 2006. Prior to his church ministry, he devoted 22 years as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the military in 1993 at the rank of major with a distinguished service record including three Meritorious Service Medals, the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal.

Blodgett was taught by his mother to sing “by ear.” He began singing in a “mixed quartet” at an early age and has continued through his adult life singing in a number of venues. He brings 17 years of experience as a choral director to the Fallbrook Chorale.

With the capable support of the Chorale’s longtime accompanist, Jeanne Dixon, Blodgett is preparing the group for their upcoming semiannual concert, scheduled for June 23 at the Bob Burton Center on the Fallbrook High School campus.

The Fallbrook Chorale rehearses every Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Community Baptist Church at 731 South Stage Coach Lane. Those who love to sing and love to have a good time are invited to join the ranks.
