Auctions benefit Pro Kids Golf Academy, St. Clare's Home

The Vista Valley Women’s Golf Association did it again! With the help of its male members and the Vista/Fallbrook community, another successful charity event was held on March 6. Two local charities benefited: St. Clare’s Home and Pro Kids Golf Academy.

St. Clare’s Home is a shelter for abused women and children. Pro Kids is a San Diego inner-city program that helps kids develop socially, intellectually and physically through golf.

The silent and live auctions were preceded by an 18-hole golf tournament with over 100 participants. Encouraged by Tom Simmons, a professional auctioneer who donated his time, members enthusiastically bid on artwork, handcrafted items, bridge luncheons, gourmet dinners, golf equipment, tickets to sporting events and much more.

Sandi Ritter, Carol Needham and Cathy Loadman, who co-chaired the event, reported a total of over $27,000 raised for the two charities.
