Healthcare District holds Community Collaborative Breakfast

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Healthcare District held a Community Collaborative Breakfast on Saturday, March 24, at Pala Mesa Resort.

Director Gordon Tinker welcomed those in attendance, after which Larry Payton gave an update on Fallbrook Hospital. Tinker provided an overview on the Fallbrook Healthcare District and Director Dan Goldberg stepped up to tell the crowd details on the long-range plans the Healthcare District has in place. Director Hollis Moyse gave an overview of the finances of the Healthcare District.

Projects of various types were discussed, including one involving assistance to seniors in determining their Medicare Part D Plan, electronic defibrillators for vehicles manned by the Sheriff’s Senior Volunteer Patrol and corresponding CPR training for 30 volunteers and the development and implementation of an expanded family history section of the athlete’s family history section of the athlete’s physical exam at Fallbrook High School.

Keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Dylan Roby, a research scientist with the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. Dr. Roby’s focus is in data analysis and research using CHIS in areas of healthcare financing and insurance.

After the presentation, discussion groups were formed to address various topics and data relating to the 2005 CHIS survey.
