Three arrested on multiple warrants in De Luz

Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men and one woman on March 20 at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the 38000 block of De Luz Road after receiving a radio call to assist bail bond agents attempting to apprehend the three felony warrant suspects. In responding to the scene, deputies observed a vehicle matching the suspect description northbound on De Luz Road.

“The deputies attempted to stop the vehicle; however, the vehicle proceeded to flee northbound,” said Sheriff’s Sgt. Rich Hendrickson. “In addition to the driver, there were three passengers.” The vehicle eventually came to a stop, at which time the driver exited and ran. The passengers remained in the vehicle.

“The driver was ordered to stop, failed to stop and a foot pursuit ensued,” said Hendrickson. “A taser was used and a canine was deployed.” The driver, Thomas Aguirre, 27, of Fallbrook, sustained minor injuries from the incident and was subsequently arrested.

Aguirre was booked on charges of felony evading peace officers and interfering with a peace officer (resisting arrest) and on an existing warrant for burglary.

Two of the passengers in the car were arrested as well. Cornejo Efrain, 23, known to reside in Fallbrook, was arrested on five outstanding warrants, including grand theft, various drug charges, burglary and possession of stolen property.

Zorayda Rojas, 29, a female Fallbrook resident, was arrested on four outstanding warrants, including two for domestic violence, burglary, possession of stolen property and drug charges.

All three individuals arrested were transported to the Vista Detention Facility for booking.

“Some of the warrants were issued from North San Diego County and others were from Southern Riverside County,” Hendrickson said, indicating the suspects had been committing crimes both north and south of De Luz.

“The fact that these individuals had outstanding warrants is indicative of their propensity to commit crime and victimize the communities,” Hendrickson said. “We are also looking into them pertaining to other outstanding cases.”
