Youth celebrate first birthday of GANAS mentoring program

Dahnizia Colmena, Wyett Perrine, Fantasia Colmena, Genesis Lupercio, Zayra Cisneros, Tyler Smith, Jonathan Hernandez and Alejandro Lupercio celebrate being the first group of students to graduate from the GANAS group mentoring program. GANAS (Guide, Nurture, Support) reflects the mission statement of the mentoring program that provides stable and caring role models (mentors) who guide and inspire children from ages 9 to 14. The mentors strive to steer youth away from gangs and other negative behaviors and offer them constructive alternatives and help making positive life choices.
