Brassard honored as Player of Year

Second-year Pop Warner player Aaron Brassard was recently honored as Palomar Conference’s Player of the Year in the Mitey Mite Division. Former Chargers Coach Tom Bass presented Brassard with a certificate of recognition at a ceremony at the Hall of Champions at Balboa Park.

Brassard contributed to the success of the Mitey Mite Braves’ regular season win record of 8-1-1 by playing both offensive and defensive positions. As a starting running back, he ran for 15 of the 26 season touchdowns and passed for an additional touchdown on a halfback option pass.

As middle linebacker, Brassard led his team in tackles and made numerous touchdown-saving tackles due to his exceptional speed. A ferocious hitter, he left a lasting impression on opposing teams with many “de-cleating” hits.

His team’s defense allowed only six touchdowns in 11 games.

Brassard is a straight-A student, is modest and has an outstanding work ethic. He leads by example and is known as a positive role model for his teammates.
