Bates honored at La Jolla Art Association show

LA JOLLA — Fallbrook fine art watercolor painter Jim Bates has been given one of three fourth-place Honorable Mention awards for his “Poker with the Boys” at the La Jolla Art Association San Diego Juried County Awards Show.

The show will run through April 15 at the La Jolla Art Association’s Village Gallery, located at 7932 Ivanhoe Avenue, La Jolla. The gallery is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bates is one of 63 San Diego County artists whose work was chosen for display at the show. He submitted two paintings for jurying; both were accepted.

Bates is the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce 2006 Artist of the Year and is a member of the Fallbrook Art Association, the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild and the San Diego Art Institute. His paintings are featured at A Few of Our Favorite Things in Fallbrook.
