Contemporary chant, intuitive music artist in Fallbrook

FALLBROOK — The 10 a.m. service on Easter Sunday, April 8, at the Hillside Center for Spiritual Living, 331 East Elder, will include guest musician and international recording artist Michael Stillwater.

Winner of the Chant of the Year award from the New Thought Songwriters Tribute, as well as a John Lennon Songwriting award in the folk category, Stillwater is a guitarist/singer who knows the meaning of “audience participation.” Over the span of 30 years he has developed a style of chant known in English as “contemporary chant.”

Combining elements of an American sing-along with an intention for healing and sacred presence more often found in Gregorian chant and Indian Kirtan, contemporary chant reaches an audience of Baby Boomers hungry for meaning and ready for involvement.
