Genovese named Woman of Year by Fallbrook Woman's Club

FALLBROOK — Loraine Genovese was the recipient of the Woman of the Year award during the March general meeting of the Fallbrook Woman’s Club, “Honoring Our Own.” The award is an honor bestowed annually by the club on one of its own for outstanding volunteerism and devotion to the club’s principles and activities.

Genovese has been a member of the club since 2004. She served as chairwoman in 2006 for the Rockin’ with Santa Christmas Party for pre-teens at Camp Pendleton and as chairwoman of the annual Attic and Rummage Sale, one of the club’s major fundraisers, for the past two years. She is also editor of the club’s monthly newsletter. Genovese is serving on the committee for the club’s 100th anniversary extravaganza in November and has been nominated for third vice president of the board of directors for 2007-2008.

Also receiving accolades for their extraordinary volunteerism were Helga Rosser (rental and lease and Adopt-a-Road), Barbara Russ (membership) and Lois Larson (properties, finance and directory).
