RE: Robert Green, Israel and Palestine

So, Robert F. Green [Village News, Opinion, 3/29/07] blames America’s war on terrorism with its support of Israel? This is beyond absurd. Billions of our hard-earned tax dollars have been flushed down the rat hole that is Palestine and worse, we kowtowed for years to a murdering thug named Arafat. Seen any improvement?

The Palestinian people slaughter each other by the thousands, yet these same people scream bloody murder when Israel responds to an attack and kills even one Palestinian. Do Mr. Green and his ilk purposely ignore these facts, or what? All I’ve seen is Israel continually defending itself and then ceding evermore to the demands of a brainwashed and murderous cult.

America’s support for Israel is simple: It is the only democracy in that entire nest of vipers. Since Mr. Green is fond of making connections, explain for all us simple folk out here why Muslim fanatics are murdering hundreds a day in Thailand, or the Philippines. What on earth does Israel’s existence have to do with any of that?

The answer is nothing, Mr. Green. The real answer is that it’s about Islamic power and it will always be thus. When it comes to picking sides, I’ll take the side that best represents me and my country’s interests any day. What side is Mr. Green on?
