Thanks, Fallbrook, for another great CROP Walk!

A great many dedicated Fallbrook residents came together on Sunday, March 25, to support our annual CROP Walk. In addition to the many walkers and sponsors who donated the much-needed funds for the event, people gave generously of their time and energy.

I want to especially thank Sam Logan of Major Market for his donation of 10 cases of bottled water; McDonald’s, who contributed drinks and cups; and Sandy Dorsey, Steve and Ellen LeFevre, who handed out drinks to the thirsty walkers at the turn-around point on the walk.

Jim Dooley set up a table and put out trashcans and recycling bins along the walk route and many helped at the Food Pantry. Some of the helpers at the pantry handed out t-shirts or registered participants and recorded their financial contributions. Others cooked hot dogs and chili, served drinks or handed out desserts.

The weather was beautiful; the music at the staging area was up-beat and added excitement and fun to the occasion. Herman Van den Bosch did an outstanding job of inspiring the participants and coordinating the entire fundraiser.

The Fallbrook Food Pantry, which will received one-fourth of the total contributions, wishes to thank the many people who acted to make this a truly successful CROP Walk for 2007. Thank you!

Jean Dooley
