FYSL shoots photos at Ingold Field

On March 7, Fallbrook Youth Soccer League (FYSL) held a photo day at Ingold Field. Photojournalist Wayne Taylor was on hand from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. taking pictures of the 20 arena soccer teams that are currently playing every Saturday.

Arena Soccer, sometimes called indoor soccer, is not to be mistaken for the Boys & Girls Club indoor soccer. The co-ed teams are made up of players with various skill levels. Many of the older teams have players who range from first-timers to Fury-level soccer players.

Arena Soccer is a bit different than regular soccer because there are no off-sides and the soccer ball bounces against the wall, so it is kept in play a lot longer. All games have two 20- to 30-minute halves, depending on age bracket, and there is an official referee.

The first season ended on March 24. The organization is currently taking sign-ups for the next Arena Soccer season at Ingold Field. Next season begins April 14. FYSL’s Arena Soccer is an excellent way to get into shape for the upcoming recreational and club season.
