Fallbrook Relay for Life kicks off April 19

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life will soon return to Fallbrook for its fourth year. The 24-hour team event takes place at the Fallbrook High School track from 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, to 10 a.m. Sunday, June 3. This year’s kickoff event will be a mock relay set up at the Fallbrook Public Utilities District (FPUD) building on Thursday, April 19, from 6 to 7 p.m.

“We hope this will help people to understand what a great family event the relay is,” said Wanda Reidmuller, this year’s Relay for Life Fallbrook event chairperson. “By coming to the kickoff, everyone will get to experience firsthand why we relay. It’s more than a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of life. From the survivor lap to open the relay, the lighting of the luminaria circling the track, to the final lap we keep going, one team member on the track at all times. We don’t rest because cancer never rests!”
