DPLU made right decision

After reading the Village News story on the Department of Public Land Use (DPLU) decision regarding the Pala Mesa Highlands development (“Opinions vary on Pala Mesa highlands project,” 3/22/07), I am convinced that the commissioners did the right thing in supporting family homes in Pala Mesa.

I know that some seniors in the area are against having the homes and would prefer condos or duplexes. That’s a bad idea and only serves the interest of a small segment of area residents. One person commented in the article that the family homes are better suited to Temecula. I say the duplexes are better suited to Sun City.

When considering a new neighborhood the entire community’s feelings should be taken into consideration. Again, the DPLU made the right decision for all of Fallbrook.
