Re: 'Okay, you nasty little stone-throwers

Wow! I cannot believe what some people will complain about these days! Where do they find the time?

In response to Bonnie Wright’s comment, “Does the Chamber of Commerce have maps showing those locations?” Shouldn’t one expect some level of aircraft noise in a town located next to a United States Marine Corps base? When I go to the beach I do not need someone to disclose to me that I should wear sunscreen. Why? Because I know that if I go to the beach I am likely to get burned. At some point, some level of common sense must be used.

Ms. Wright also states that she “purchased my mobile home on a quiet day and was not advised by anyone, seller or mobile home park management, that the quiet was an exception.” Since Ms. Wright purchased her home on a quiet “day,” should she have been informed of the noise of the coyote population during nighttime hours? Should the Chamber of Commerce have maps showing the locations of these coyotes? Not when the choice was made to live in a rural town where the howl of the coyote can be expected just as the howl of a helicopter in a town located next to a United States Marine Corps base.

Bottom line is that this is not malice on the part of the United States Marine Corps, nor is it their intent to annoy the population of Fallbrook. These Marines are fighting for our freedom, regardless of whether we believe the war is right or wrong. I’m sure that most of these Marines would prefer to be in their warm beds at home just as Ms. Wright is every night.

My suggestion to Ms. Wright is to invoke her right to selective hearing. Tune out the helicopter noise and tune into the peaceful sounds of Fallbrook. There are many sounds that may be passing you by and, best of all, everyone can hear them if they choose to, even those on a fixed income.
