Ransbury, Thurlow win art awards

CORONA — Two young Fallbrook artists won awards in the Youth Art Month Southern Area Exhibition held at California Heritage Park. Students in this area show were prize winners from eight southern counties.

The Fallbrook artists are Taryn Ransbury, who won first place in the third through fifth grade division, and Cameron Thurlow, who won honorable mention in the kindergarten through second grade division.

Their instructor, Marilee Ragland, is a member the California Art Education Association, the organization that sponsored the show. Ragland teaches at Fallbrook School of the Arts (www.artstudiosoffallbrook.com).

Ransbury, Thurlow and Oscar Almanzor, another Youth Art Month show participant from Fallbrook, will be recognized at an awards reception on Saturday, April 21, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Corona Heritage Park.
