Hospital Patients' Choice in nursing

FALLBROOK — Once again, the Patient Choice Award will recognize the quality care, comfort and compassion offered by the nurses at Fallbrook Hospital, honoring one nurse in particular. Continuing the tradition of the last few years, this program solicits input from the community and will culminate with one nurse at Fallbrook Hospital receiving the award during Nurses’ Week, May 6-12.

“When patients come to us they don’t choose their nurses, but this is their chance to choose a nurse to honor,” says Janet Colvard, Chief Nursing Officer. “Patients see the little things that matter so much on a very personal level – things we might not ever know about without their input.” Nominations for the 2007 Patient Choice Award will be accepted until Wednesday, May 2.

To nominate a nurse, former patients – or their friends or relatives – can send the nurse’s name and a few paragraphs explaining the nomination, along with their own name (and the name of the patient), address and phone number. Nominations can be e-mailed to [email protected], faxed to (760) 728-0683, or mailed to Monique Murphy-Mijares, Marketing Director, Fallbrook Hospital, 624 E. Elder Street, Fallbrook, CA 92028.
