Spring brings expanded, newly remodeled Grangetto's - Grand re-opening festivities to be held April 26-28

This spring will bring not only the popular Avocado Festival to the Friendly Village but an added bonus in the way of a tremendous celebration signifying the expansion, remodel and subsequent grand re-opening of the Fallbrook Grangetto’s store.

Grangetto’s, a respected name in farm and garden supply since 1952, will host the festivities for three days – April 26, 27 and 28 – from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 530 East Alvarado Street.

“There will be giveaways, specials, vendors, free hot dogs and drinks and insight offered into many products,” said owner Kevin Grangetto. “We invite all of our customers and those who haven’t shopped with us before.”

The plan for the store’s remodel, which included doubling the amount of floor space, was put into motion last September. “It was at that time that we decided to move forward on the remodeling project and established a budget and time frame,” Grangetto said.

Grangetto’s Sales Manager Bob Swindell said a lot of pre-planning went into the remodel in order to keep the store open and maintain the high level of customer service for which they are known.

“It was important to maintain our level of attention to our customers’ needs,” Swindell said. “We were very proactive. We sent letters out 30 days in advance of the remodel to our regular customers announcing the expansion. We asked them for their insight, too, so we could better address their needs.”

The result of the remodel and expansion is stunning, featuring an easy-to-navigate store with attractive, well-placed product displays and a significant increase in merchandise.

“I think [the new design] offers our customers better visibility of the products we carry,” Grangetto said. “Now [the products] really stand out; we have a nice sales counter in the middle of the sales floor and better accessibility to our customers. The new layout allows us to keep more stock in the back of the store – not in view, but easily accessible.”

Prior to the expansion, Grangetto’s shared one-third (3,000 square feet) of the building with an automotive repair business.

“Because we were able to secure that additional space, it allowed us to remodel the whole interior of the store,” Swindell said. “The old design was very outdated with low ceilings. In addition to adding space, we were able to improve on the design, layout and footprint of the interior, which enhances the shoppers’ experience. We will be increasing staffing as well.”

“I think it looks great,” Grangetto said. “We have really improved our facility and it has given us an even better opportunity to serve our customers.”
