De Luz cleanup event April 28

FALLBROOK — The fifth annual Creek to Bay Cleanup event will be held on Saturday, April 28. The event, organized by I Love a Clean San Diego (ILACSD), encompasses all of San Diego County.

There will be two cleanup sites in the De Luz area of Fallbrook for local volunteers who want to help with the effort.

One check-in location will be Welburn Gourd Farm, 40635 De Luz Road, on Saturday from 9 a.m. until finished. The second location will be the intersection of Daily Road and Jones in the De Luz Heights area on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to dusk.

Participants will be cleaning up dumped appliances, furniture, construction materials and other trash that has accumulated along the creeks and roadsides of De Luz. Volunteers are welcome to spend as much time as they can spare anytime during the day. All are asked to wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants and sun hats and bring water, lunch and sunscreen.

To register via Internet, residents can go to http://www.creektobay.org and click the “Register Online” box. On the registration page, they can put their name and the number of people participating with them and select “Zone 2.” Then they can download and sign a waiver in advance.
