RE: 'Post office example of poor management' [Village News, Opinion, 4/12/07]

Our neighborhood has suffered the effects of mis-delivery, expected mail that never appears (such as magazine subscriptions) and, yes, even identity theft.

My wife had all of her original identification stolen when she signed a yellow slip to have her ID returned from Social Security. The yellow slip was placed in the mailbox, but the letter containing all of her identification was never delivered – indeed, it was never found.

In addition, we regularly receive our neighbors’ mail and they receive ours.

The mail is our lifeline and is not to be trifled with. Improvements must be made. These mistakes by the post office should not be tolerated.
