Service project completed by local girls

More than 75 Fallbrook and Vista girls between the ages of 8 and 12 attended the March 11 Vista Stake Activity Day Service Project at the Vista Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). They assembled over 200 hygiene kits for the Vista project Straight from the Heart, which has been established to aid children placed into foster care.

The contents of the kits were donated by church members and collected by the girls and their leaders over the past few months.

In addition to Straight from the Heart, the girls also contributed to other benefits. After months of babysitting, chores and saving, the girls individually donated money to the LDS Humanitarian Fund to buy wheelchairs for the disabled. The girls donated a total of $625, which is enough to purchase nine wheelchairs.
