'Beauty and the Beast' opening May 4

FALLBROOK — “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” is about to charm Fallbrook audiences as they discover the magic behind the castle walls. This much-loved spectacle with show-stopping musical numbers, astonishing sets and lavish costumes will thrill young audiences and their parents.

For anyone who has never seen a film come to life, CAST Production’s “Beauty and the Beast” will provide that pleasure. With a talented cast of characters – including Rich Lafetra as Lumiere the dancing candlestick, Mark Kopitzke as the vain Gaston, Matt Scharr as Gaston’s goofy sidekick Lafou and Kalin McKelvey as the cursed yet loveable Beast – this show promises to bring a smile to everyone who sees it.

Additioanl cast members include Jennifer Hornsveld as Belle; Mary Fry as Mrs. Potts; Robert Wolter as Clogsworth the clock; Walter Savell as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric inventor father; and Pamela Lambert as the singing wardrobe.

All performances will be held at the Mission Theatre, 231 North Main Avenue, and will take place Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from May 4 to May 27. Friday and Saturday evening performances will begin at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinees will begin at 2 p.m.

Exceptions: there will be no performance on Saturday, May 12; however, there will be a special matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 26.
