Horn attends geriatric conference

FALLBROOK — Colleen Van Horn of Innovative Healthcare Consultants, Inc. of Fallbrook attended the 2007 National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM) conference in Boston from April 12 to 15.

Some of the conference highlights included:

· Robert Portney, M.D., speaking on “Ethical Issues in the Treatment of Dementia: Why Treat it if We Can’t Cure It?”

· Leonard J. Marcus, PhD, MSW, presentation entitled “Talk the Talk and Walk the Walk: From Personal Preparedness to National Preparedness.”

· Rebecca J. Benson, Esq., presented a general session titled “Legal Rights of Nursing Home Residents: What Every PGCM Needs to Know.”
