Library announces spring programs

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook Library will offer a variety of activities in May for different age groups. On Thursday, May 10, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. beauty consultant Joanne Tolman will present a free spring makeup makeover. Tolman will give instructions on colors to complement individual complexions and tips on makeup application. The program is recommended for adults and teens.

On Thursday, May 24, from 4 to 5 p.m. Canine Companions for Independence will present a demonstration of assistance dogs who work as companions for people with disabilities. The representative and his dog will show how the dogs are trained to perform such tasks as pulling a wheelchair or picking up dropped items. The program is appropriate for all ages.

The adult book discussion group meets Thursday, May 10, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Fallbrook Public Utility District, 990 East Mission Road, to discuss “Beethoven: His Spiritual Development,” by J.W. Sullivan. Facilitator will be Dr. Brenda Montiel.

On Wednesday, May 30, at 10:30 a.m. the San Diego County Library Puppeteers will present a puppet show entitled “The Rumor.” The show is an Indian Jataka tale, a version of the famous fairytale “Chicken Little,” during which a chicken is outfoxed by the fox on the way to tell the king that the sky is falling. The program is recommended for preschoolers.
