Crash Kids win Battle of the Bands

FALLBROOK — The Crash Kids took first place at the first Battle of the Bands, held before an audience of more than 270 at Fallbrook Community Center on April 21. A total of ten bands performed and battled it out for a cash award and other prizes.

In addition to the Crash Kids, participating bands included Forward Motion, Lost Haven, Surfing Socrates, Lazy 8, FBMOB, Demolisha, Constantine, Narcissus Dethroned and The Scallywags. Performances were rated by judges Phil Leonelli, Chris Pritchard and Dale Grinnell.

The Crash Kids received the $200 first place prize and were invited to perform at the Community Health Fair on May 12 and the Temecula Music Festival on May 19. Lost Haven came in second place and received a free recording session at Jack and Gary’s Music Studios. They are also invited to perform at the Health Fair. Constantine placed third and received gift certificates from Coldstone Creamery and Sourdough Pizza.

The Battle of the Bands was sponsored by Friends of Fallbrook Community Center and County of San Diego Parks and Recreation.
