Cinco de Mayo Festival being held May 6

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook’s first Cinco de Mayo Festival will be presented by the Front Porch Project on Sunday, May 6.

More than just an event, it will be a fun-filled family festival that is drug- and alcohol-free. The festival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at Zeke Weaver Memorial Field (the baseball field next to the Boys & Girls Club), 315 East Ivy Street.

This free event is being hosted by the Front Porch Project (a community mentoring program under the Fallbrook Citizens’ Crime-Prevention/Neighborhood Rehab Committee), Pat Braendel, co-chair, and Myriam Padilla, the North Inland Communities Prevention Program (a program of Mental Health Systems, Inc.).

The festival will celebrate all families, no matter what religious, ethnic, socioeconomic, philosophical or political differences. The goal of this festival is to integrate the diverse cultural background in this community and establish a closer relationship with each other by working in harmony toward a common goal for the enrichment of the community while enjoying a drug- and alcohol-free event. This festival also gives attendees a multiethnic cultural experience with a mix of live entertainment and great food. The group’s motto is “Integrity through diversity.”

Therewill be fun, food, entertainment and resource booths. Everyone is invited to bring the whole family and celebrate each other with honor!
