John Elmer Fletcher, 97, passed away May 8, 2007, in Fallbrook, CA. Born April 9, 1910, in El Monte, CA, he was a resident of Fallbrook for 35 years.

Mr. Fletcher was a graduate of UCLA, a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Blue “C” Lettermen’s society, Blue Key club at UCLA and the starting quarterback for UCLA during the 1932-1933 season. He was president of the Homeowner Association at East Ridge Community in Fallbrook.

Mr. Fletcher is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marinell Fletcher, Fallbrook; sons Thomas Fletcher, San Diego, and Dennis Fletcher, Lake Forest, CA; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

There will be a memorial service at Silvergate Retirement Residence at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oceanside, CA.

Donations may be made to Angel Society of Fallbrook.

Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary of Fallbrook handled arrangements.
