Oceanside edges Fallbrook in April senior cribbage match

The Oceanside Senior Center cribbage team ended Fallbrook’s winning streak at six matches on April 26. Oceanside won 68 games to Fallbrook’s sixty-five. The monthly match with 37 players was held at the Vista Elks Lodge.

First place was won by Fallbrook’s Ethel Williams, who had 6 wins with a skunk. She was followed by Luella Brotherton, Marty Hess, Dorothy Black and Norm Peterson, who all had 5 wins with 2 skunks. The $25 gift card donated by the Albertsons store at 4150 Oceanside Boulevard was won by Lilo Mendizza.

Senior Cribbage Challenges are held on the fourth Thursday of each month. The next match will be held May 24 (note: this is not the last Thursday of the month) at the Vista Elks Lodge, 1947 East Vista Way. Play begins at 12:30 p.m. All who enjoy cribbage are invited to join the fun.
