Relax and rejuvenate at The Massage Studio - Massage therapy nurtures body and mind

Tucked away and known as one of Fallbrook’s oldest and best kept secrets, the Heritage Square Garden has been the unique and peaceful location of The Massage Studio for 18 years. As one begins to walk along the path of garden, subconsciously they are preparing themselves to be pampered and cared for by the therapists at the studio. Nestled within this garden lies a haven of health therapy.

“We are off the beaten path; some Fallbrookians don’t even know the secret garden is here,” said Lori Lang-Scott, owner. “That’s the charm of it!”

The massage rooms at the studio are an unexpected delight. As clients begin to rest their weary bodies on the comfortable massage table, their senses are filled with the permeation of wonderful aromas, the flickering of candles, relaxing music and the soft sounds of water trickling from a nearby fountain. Lang-Scott and her handpicked staff truly go above and beyond the call of massage therapy duty to make people feel comfortable. Essentially, this empowers clients to fully reap the rewards of massage therapy.

Lang-Scott and her five therapists insist on doing the “little things” that make people feel special. They include aromatherapy, herbal hot packs and hot towels for each and every massage session. Clients have the option of requesting a certain temperature in the charming massage room.

The philosophy is to keep business simplistic. Rather than stepping into the hectic 21st Century technological lifestyle, Lang-Scott deliberately keeps her studio old-fashioned on many levels. She hopes that her customers can mentally go back to a time where the act of relaxation was commonplace. Lang-Scott takes pride in guiding her clients to their own unique place of peace and harmony.

“Relaxation can be taught by practicing simple techniques in your everyday routine,” said Lang-Scott. “We’re glad to share the knowledge with our clients, so they can take the mindset and calmness with them when they leave the studio. Stress reduction can be achieved easily just by breathing!”

“People need to be taken care of and heard,” she said. The “back in the old days” methodology also ensures that their clients never feel rushed.

“We offer full 30-, 60- and 90-minute massages,” explained Lang-Scott. Clients are not penalized for the time it takes to get ready – both before and after a massage – as their bookings give people plenty of preparation time.

First-timers are also given a detailed, but brief, questionnaire to help the massage therapists hone in on the type of therapy that best suits the client’s needs.

“These health questionnaires help us customize each session,” she said. Lang-Scott explained that each of her therapists, including herself, have unique and different techniques. With that said, she encourages clients to experience each therapist to find the ones most compatible with them. Her staff members harbor no hard feelings about this, as their primary concern is for the wellbeing of the client.

“A cardiologist here in town once said to me, ‘Finding good massage therapists is an important as finding a good doctor,’” she noted.

“We check our egos at the door,” said Lang-Scott. Feedback is not an insult at the studio, Lang-Scott said. She encourages a client to make their feelings known to the therapist before and during the massage.

“We value the feedback. Besides, it takes teamwork to accomplish your wellbeing,” she said. “Just remember, it’s all about you at our place of healing!”

Massage therapy aims to relax the body, bring relief from pain, reduce certain kinds of inflammation, improve circulation and digestion and promote a general feeling of wellbeing.

“It is a nurturing form of non-sexual touch that my colleagues and I believe promote internal balance and body awareness,” Lang-Scott said. “It’s not a luxury; it’s a vital lifeline. A massage once a month will change your life!”

To keep things simple, The Massage Studio offers three treatment categories: Swedish/Relaxation, Therapeutic and Deep Tissue. Many different techniques are used to accomplish healing in these sessions. The years invested in the art of massage have helped people with back and neck issues, fibromyalgia, arthritis, diabetes and athletes pre- and post-events, just to name a few.

“People are catching on, realizing the health benefits of massage,” she noted.

Lang-Scott and her staff are grateful they have had the opportunity to help so many Fallbrook people. They appreciate their clients, and their clients feel the genuine sincerity.

It is true that these therapists might have entered this particular health field for different reasons, yet all of them have one thing in common. They have a passion for what they do.

“It also comes from the heart,” said Lang-Scott. While the studio’s specialty is massage therapy, they do also offer scrubs, muds and wraps.

“We offer client incentives to return again and again,” she added. “What better reason to receive massage therapy than ‘For the Health of It?’ Honor your mom on Mother’s Day with a gift certificate. We look forward to your visit!”
