Beauty and the Beast: Perfect way to spend Mother's Day

If you are looking for a unique way to spend time with your Mom this weekend, I recommend a live performance. You don’t want to miss ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ I saw it last weekend and it was great.

Mission Theater has drawn some of our best talent locally and some gifted out-of-town actors/singers. While I’m not a professional critic, I thought the parts were cast perfectly. Mark Kopitzke, with his beautiful voice, was very funny playing boisterous Gaston. Kalin McKelvey did a great job with his more intimidating role, and Belle, played by stand-in Valerie Schiro was just fabulous with her beautiful clear voice.

The rest of the cast, including Lumiere, played by Rich LaFetra, Mrs. Potts, played by Mary Fry, LaFou, played by Matt Schnarr, Maurice, played by Walter Savell, Cogsworth, played by Rob Wolter, Wardrobe, played by Pamela Lambert, Babette, played by Katie Hornsveld, Chip and all the townspeople were just wonderful. The sets and costumes were great and the production as a whole was one of the best I’ve seen at the theater. Jennifer Hornsveld did a magnificent job producing the show and what a great way to top off your weekend.
