Turkey products recalled

California-based Diestel Turkey Ranch is voluntarily recalling almost 7,000 pounds of ready-to-eat turkey products that may be contaminated with Listeria, bacteria that can cause an uncommon but sometimes fatal disease, according to County of San Diego officials.

County Department of Environmental Health officials are visiting local markets identified as locations where Diestel products are sold, including Jimbo’s Naturally, Harvest Ranch Markets and Whole Foods Markets. The recall includes six products that were produced on April 20.

For more information about the recall, contact the US Department of Agriculture at http://www.fsis.usda.gov or (888) 674-6854.
