Live Oak Jog-a-Thon promotes healthy habits

Teachers cheer as Live Oak School students participated in the annual Jog-a-Thon held May 4 at the school. The event is held to promote healthy exercise and good eating habits.

Volunteers (l-r) Kristin Vanderstelt, Holly Trexler, Peggy DiMercurio (Coordinator for the past seven years), Lilly Perez, and Leslie Strizak encourage the children to lead healthy lives. They are pictured here with water donated by Albertsons and organic oranges provided by Rainbow Valley Orchards. Other generous sponsors included Major Market, Daniel’s Market, Baskin-Robbins, Cold Stone Creamery, Yogurt Palace, and more.

Local firefighters supported the event and briefed students on how the Jog-a-Thon would proceed.
