Working hard

Sweeping, raking, and painting were some of the jobs that could be seen in progress last Saturday when members of the Fallbrook FFA all worked together to get the agriculture department ready for the Youth Fair this Saturday and Sunday. They were excited and ready to go when they arrived Saturday morning and left the agriculture department looking outstanding!

The students exhibiting their animals this weekend are hard at work this week preparing for the show as well. Some of the preparations for show include washing the animal on a daily basis, clipping them to make them look the best they possibly can, and working on showmanship, which is judging on how well you can exhibit the animal in the show ring.

The Youth Fair will be held this weekend at the Fallbrook Union High School Agriculture Department and it is a great way to spend a Saturday or Sunday and connect with your country roots!

Another event that is coming up soon is the “End of the Year BBQ.” On June 1, there will be a barbeque to celebrate the accomplishments of the members this year, and install the 2007-2008 Officer Team.

The 2007-2008 team is Jules Duffin, president; Ryan Rico, vice president; Maria Valdez, secretary; Tatiana Prestininzi, treasurer; Tara Glidden, reporter; Eduardo Gonzalez, sentinel;, Kelsey Adams, historian; Maggie Maratsos, parliamentarian; and Saber Youman, chaplain. Congratulations to all who participated! We will also hear retiring addresses from the six senior officers, Emily Sherman, Melissa Morrison, Becca Dutton, Marissa Tescier, Kandace Kooyman and Ashley Miller. As this year comes to a close, we are recognizing the accomplishments in the past, and looking forward to future success!
