Riders of the Purple Sage appear in Fallbrook

Not only are the cowboy matinees of Roy Rogers and Gene Autry nostalgia fare for people “of a certain age” they also created the stirring music of the Hollywood cowboy, San Antonio Rose, Tumbling Tumbleweed and many others. This music will be re-created with a new twist on vintage sound in Fallbrook by Cody Bryant’s Riders of the Purple Sage on Saturday, May 19, at 7:30 p.m. at Hilltop Center, 331 East Elder. Tickets are sold at Major Market and the door. Call 760-723-7255 for information.

The rich three-part harmony will be there, but they’ll deliver some catchy new originals and bluegrass-inspired instrumentals. The phrase, “Riders of the Purple Sage” is borrowed from a 1912 Zane Grey novel.
