Injured Marine receives gifts from Fallbrook

CAMP PENDLETON — On Easter Sunday, April 8, Fallbrook Honorary Mayor Rhonda Reinke and her husband, Maj. Gen. Claude Reinke (USMC, Ret.), and family enjoyed brunch with Cpl. Kyle Layer and his wife Melonie.

Following brunch, the Easter Bunny helped deliver a large basket filled with cards of appreciation and encouragement and gifts from the community of Fallbrook. Cpl. Layer, a Fallbrook resident, received near-fatal wounds in Iraq two years ago and is undergoing yet another surgery as he deals with managing and living with his injuries.
