Military members honored on Cinco de Mayo

There was a Cinco de Mayo luncheon at the Wounded Warrior Center on May 4 to honor and celebrate with the great men and women in the military.

The event was coordinated by Mary Ann and Bob Hillery (COL USMC retired) with Willis Allen Real Estate in Fallbrook and supported by many including El Jardin Mexican Restaurant, and manager Joe Fedorchak who provided most of the food for 60 attendees. Albertsons in Oceanside on Mission Rd. donated fresh baked chocolate chip cookies; Wal-Mart on College Blvd donated DVD’s, CD player, gift cards, and Gatorade; and Divas Boutique donated Voluspa perfume. Refreshments and a giant carrot cake were provided by St. Vincent de Paul thrift store volunteers

A presentation of a wall hanging adorned with unit patches from all USMC commands was presented to the Wounded Warrior Center by Operation Interdependence volunteers. They also brought lots of goodies and toiletry products for the Center.
