An outstanding weekend!

This past weekend, the 52nd Annual Youth Fair was held at the Fallbrook High School Agriculture Department. Students that exhibit animals in the Fallbrook area gathered together and did a great job exhibiting their animals throughout the weekend.

This is an event that gives the exhibitors an opportunity to show off their animals that they have dedicated many hours to in preparation. It is practice for the San Diego County Fair next month, and it is a wonderful way for the community to see what the youth are doing, how hard these students work and what they are learning.

This weekend, market steers, market hogs, market lambs, market goats, and dairy goats were exhibited by the members. There was also a Kiss the Pig event, a Chicken Fashion Show, and the Pee Wee Showmanship, which is always a crowd favorite. The plant show that was held on both days did very well, and the students were excited to assist the community with plant selection. Everyone who attended benefited from this weekend. The Fallbrook students now are geared up and ready to represent the town at the San Diego County Fair next month!

One of the big events coming up is the End of the Year BBQ on June 1. This BBQ marks the closing of the year for the Fallbrook FFA, new officers will be installed, the senior officers will give their retiring addresses, and there will be a slideshow to look back on all of the achievements this year.

On June 2, the Fallbrook FFA Relay for Life team, “Aggies for a Cure,” will be participating in the Relay for Life, which will be held at the high school, and is a good way to go out and show support for the community.

This week was one full of activities, just as the next few will be, but the members are looking at them with enthusiasm and are ready to continue the high standard that Fallbrook has upheld for so many years!
