Village Kitchen Design: A quality team

When guests visit the Village Kitchen Design showroom in Fallbrook, they instinctively know they have walked into an establishment that promotes quality and professionalism. In this flourishing business, Village Kitchen Design has found their niche.

“Our core business is in the remodeling market,” said owner Ken Clark. “About 85% of our business comes from remodeling.”

Village Kitchen Design creates a secure and cohesive partnership with the client that is reflected in each stage of the remodeling process. Clark is “hands-on” in each stage of the project by overseeing the progress and addressing any issues along the way. This involves the design, budget, construction and finishing process. For some, remodeling a kitchen can be a trying endeavor, but when a homeowner has the right team of people by their side, it makes all the difference in the world.

Clark advises clients to follow a certain guideline when considering a remodel.

“First and foremost, they [homeowners] really need to have a budget in mind of what they are prepared to spend,” he said. Though this may seem like a logical step, Clark says some clients can overspend their hard earned dollars toward the tail end of the project. Clark’s goal is to have a clear budget to work with on each project.

“Our goal is to keep most of the renovation categories in proper perspective and percentages,” Clark said. These categories include cabinetry, counter tops and appliances. He said most overspending commonly occurs in the appliance department, since items in this category spread over a large price range.

Though new kitchen trends and gadgets present themselves all the time, Clark wants his customers to be comfortable with their decisions, and to realize that these choices should invariably fit within their lifestyle. The design team at Village Kitchen Design provides a wonderful resource to homeowners, guiding them into a new era of style, but at the same time, personalizing their new kitchen to fit their every day needs. This talented team includes Ken Clark, Patti Clark, Sandra Buckingham and Doug Magdych.

It is especially helpful when homeowners scan pages of kitchen design magazines when considering a remodel. Clipped photos can serve as a marvelous springboard for the designer, propelling them forward in the kitchen renovations. Village Kitchen Design also delves into both the remodeling and construction areas.

“We do it all,” Clark said. “We have partnered with many contractors in town depending on the scope of the project.” While some clients only require modest remodeling, others have a larger project in mind, which could involve changing the kitchen space dramatically. The contractor selected to work on the job depends on the particular aspects of the project.

Village Kitchen Design has established a strong partnership with the highly respected architectural firm, RDSI in Solana Beach. Clark said he is more than willing to work with a homeowner’s personal contractor as well.

Clark and his talented staff at Village Kitchen Design have earned a solid reputation in the listening department. Though humble about his success, Clark acquiesced to the fact that listening was one of the top reasons his business has flourished.

“I think our success has been mostly because of the fact that we listen and that really is the main criteria,” he said. Village Kitchen Design remains committed in providing exceptional products, personalized services and talented designers, he added.
