AVID seniors honored

FALLBROOK — A festive graduation party was held at the home of Chris Young on May 4 to honor AVID seniors graduating in the Class of 2007 from Fallbrook High School.

Three students received scholarships from the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and have been active in the AVID program since they were in junior high school. During that period of time they have had an opportunity to go on field trips, including airplane rides, and form friendships with other young women and mentors in that program.

After the girls were honored with a tasty luncheon and a scrumptious cake, they were presented their scholarship awards and special graduation presents. The afternoon was concluded with a celebration dance, the Macarena, led by the talented Barbara Ajello.

The students have all been accepted at notable colleges.
