Local seamen to attend advanced training

Mark Greenfield and Colby Hyatt recently returned to their hometown of Fallbrook to attend the funeral of Mark’s mother, Yvonne. Mark and Colby were both members of Fallbrook High School’s varsity teams, Mark in wrestling and Colby in football.

After graduation in 2004, the two best friends independently enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and, by coincidence, were both stationed in Port Angeles, WA, aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Adelie. With more than two years’ experience aboard the modern 87-foot costal patrol cutter on diverse missions such as search and rescue, naval escort and drug interdiction, the men have now been assigned to advanced training classes.

Mark is currently attending an aviation mechanic certification course in North Carolina; Colby, meanwhile, is attending a Coast Guard machinery technician school in Virginia.
