San Diego Fair has walk-around entertainment

DEL MAR — Feel the energy of the San Diego County Fair right after walking through the gate. With walk-around and small-stage entertainment, fairgoers will experience excitement all day long.

Walk-Around Acts

• “Rock It” the Robot: A high-tech body puppet who spontaneously talks and dances with fairgoers while creating an energetic and original comedy act.

• “Leapin’ Louie” Lichtenstein: An explosive juggling cowboy who uses comedy, acrobatics and music to entertain.

• Godfrey the Magician: A great kids’ magician, Godfrey actually floats a child from the audience in mid-air.

• Circle City Sidewalk Stompers: This fast-moving musical group with choreographed routines has been performing since 1976. The 12 musicians, including trumpets, saxes, bass and snare drums and sousaphone, are dressed in colorful clown costumes while entertaining the crowd with interaction and fancy footwork. The band will be at the fair every day from June 22 through July 4.

Stage Shows

• “Calamity Jo’s” Comedy Magic Show: A fun, interactive magic show geared for a younger audience.

• Jackstraws: This group combines theater and music while creating the “perfect fantasy” with colorful and authentic costumes.

• Hypnotist Mark Yuzuik: Performing twice a day, Yuzuik has been a fair favorite for more than two decades. These interactive shows will take place on the San Diego Showcase Stage at 5 and 7 p.m. (exception: on the Ralph Infield Stage June 28).

• Three O’Clock Fun: Old-fashioned fun such as sack races and hula hoop contests in the Infield Contest Area at 3 p.m.
