FALLBROOK — Neither fractured bones nor an unexpected stay at the Fallbrook Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility could deter Margaret Clayton from celebrating her 90th birthday on May 10, 2007. Surrounded by friends from the Fallbrook Woman’s Club chapters of Literature and ESO (Epsilon Sigma Omicron), the day was celebrated with all the pomp and ceremony a wheelchair-bound Clayton could muster.
A highlight of the day was the presentation to Clayton of a certificate of recognition from the General Federation of Women’s Club for an article she wrote in 1993, “Purple Panes of Glass.” The article placed third nationally.
