Lynn Thomas

Lynn Thomas, 63, a five-year resident of Fallbrook, died of a sudden stroke on May 30, 2007, at Tri-City Hospital. Before moving to Fallbrook, she was a 24-year resident of Vista.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by husband Phillip Thomas, Fallbrook; son and daughter-in-law David and Marie Lamm, Orange; daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and Mike Flood, Fallbrook; brother and sister-in-law Alan and Dale Shuttleworth, Colfax, CA; and grandchildren Gwen and Sam Riedeman, Fallbrook, and Avery Lamm, Orange. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Russell Lamm.

Mrs. Thomas was born in Troy, NY, on May 9, 1944. She married Russell Lamm in 1964 and moved to California in 1965. She was a stay-at-home mother for her two children, an active PTA member and a regular volunteer in her children’s schools.

Once her children were older, she began working for the Vista Unified School District as a classroom aide and noon-duty aide. She later was a classroom aide in the Teen Parent program at Vista High School and a special education classroom aide at Roosevelt Middle School.

After her retirement in 2002, Mrs. Thomas was busy with swing dancing and world traveling. She and her husband were frequently seen dancing at Hot Summer Nights and various community events whenever music played. She had visited all 50 states as well as Mexico, Canada, Japan, China, Peru, the Galapagos Islands, Europe and, most recently, Ireland.

Mrs. Thomas was active in the Fallbrook Newcomers Club, chairing and organizing many activities. Her vibrant personality touched all who met her and she welcomed any and all people into her home as if they were family. She believed in living life to the fullest and never putting off until “later” because “later” may never come.
