Babysitting, first aid/CPR classes offered

FALLBROOK — Youth interested in securing babysitting jobs can receive training at Fallbrook Community Center. Babysitter training, geared for youth 12 years and older, includes instruction in basic first aid, diapering, problem-solving and emergency response. Class meets on Saturday, June 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All participants receive a certificate of completion and tips on how to acquire babysitting jobs.

Also offered will be a basic CPR and first aid class that includes instruction on how to assess a victim and perform correct lifesaving skills, including rescue breathing, and treatment for choking, poisoning, shock, burns, breaks and sprains. This class is approved by the Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) of California and meets OSHA requirements for daycare providers. All participants who successfully complete the class receive a certification card valid for two years. The EMSA sticker is an additional charge. First aid/CPR will meet on Saturday, July 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
