'Disney's High School Musical' premieres at Moonlight Amphitheater

This summer, Encore Youth Theatre and Premiere for Kids are teaming up for a fourth year to present the opening production on the Moonlight Amphitheater Stage in Vista. Randall Hickman, owner of Premiere for Kids, says of the production, “We are so excited to bring to North County the premier of the stage show ‘Disney’s High School Musical.’ The excitement in the community is palpable.”

This musical sensation has been sweeping up the charts and creating buzz in homerooms across the country and will take over the Moonlight Stage June 14-17. For tickets call VISTIX at (760) 724-2110 or order online at http://www.vistixonline.com.

“Disney’s High School Musical” is the story of Gabriella, a shy, brainy new student, and Troy, the captain of the basketball team, as they discover a shared love for singing when they meet at a karaoke contest and decide to audition for the leads in their high school’s musical. As usual, their musical path to love is not without challenges.

Hickman continues, “We are thrilled to have the rights to this production. The director/choreographer [Rancho Buena Vista High School dance teacher Renee Kollar] and musical director [Vista’s High School choir director Kim Henry] have assembled kids from all over San Diego County. It’s fitting that our directing team consists of teachers from the local high schools. If anyone knows about high school kids, it’s these remarkable women.”

Fallbrook and Bonsall actors in the ensemble to “High School Musical” are Katie Corcoran, Peter Mertens, Chase Ogden and Ross Warren.
