Palomar offers College for Kids summer program

SAN MARCOS — This summer offers exciting possibilities for youth in grades two through eight once again at Palomar College.

Beginning June 25 and running through July 27, this year’s College for Kids program includes the popular Junior Police and Fire Academies, Magic Camp, Robotics, Survivor and NASA Space Academy.

And there’s something new and very special. The Palomar College Foundation and California Coast Credit Union are partnering with the internationally renowned “The Money Camp” to offer a week of financial learning in a fun environment.

“We are very excited to add The Money Camp to our lineup of options for our youth this summer,” said Teri Safranek, Director, Workforce & Community Development. “The Money Camp program has been featured on many local and national television shows. This innovative course is taught like our other accelerated learning formats, giving the kids plenty of opportunity to learn in a fun, hands-on environment.”

In addition to The Money Camp, the College for Kids program will launch the Magical World of Harry Potter, A Taste of Japan and Etiquette Camps.

Several camps already have sold out. If you have a child interested in getting a taste of college life and exploring fun learning opportunities, check out Palomar’s College for Kids schedule online at http://www.palomar.edu/venture. For more information, call (760) 744-1150, ext. 2702.
