Ellenor J. Trigg

Ellenor J. Trigg, 93, passed away on June 15, 2007, in Carlsbad, CA. She was born December 3, 1913, in San Pedro, CA, and was a resident of Fallbrook for 46 years.

Ellenor’s mother, Ellen Samuelson, emigrated from Sweden at the age of 17. Her father, John Jacobsen, came to America from Norway and was a Master, Mate and Pilot of the Seven Seas. Ellenor helped take care of her siblings for her widowed mother as she worked in the secretarial field at Panama-Pacific Far East Lines and for Kaiser. She also became involved in the Little Theatre Group of San Pedro and as a volunteer for the USO.

She met and married William Grant Trigg in 1945 and began her life as an Army wife and mother, living in New York, Panama, Texas, Germany and Massachusetts before “retiring” to California. Ellenor and Bill purchased an avocado ranch in Fallbrook and settled into a life of raising three children, Grant, Greg and Andrea, in the “Avocado Capital of the World.”

Ellenor was active in 4-H and all things involving her family. Her home was always open for the many friends of their children and for their friends in the community. It served as a wonderful gathering place for family reunions as well. In 1979, she and Bill moved to the Pala Mesa Village to have a true retirement.

Ellenor was preceded in death by son Grant in 1966 and husband William in 2001. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Greg and Jan Trigg, Juneau, AK; daughter and son-in-law Andrea James and Mike Petersen, Carlsbad, CA; and grandchildren Nathaniel and Kat Trigg, Megan Trigg, Jason Trigg, Matthew and Jeanette James, Timothy and Alison James and Sarah-Ellen James. Ellenor was to become a great-grandmother for the first time in August with the birth of Tim and Alison’s son.

She was a kind, loving, caring woman who touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Anyone who would like to share in some stories of her life and celebrate knowing Ellenor can join the family for a gathering on Saturday, June 23, 2007, beginning at 2 p.m. at 4035 James Drive, Carlsbad. For more information, please call (760) 729-7897.

Burial will be at Riverside National Cemetery.
