CSUSM announces new childcare center

SAN MARCOS — San Marcos University Corporation and California State University San Marcos have announced that Children’s Creative Learning Centers (CCLC), a leading national early childcare and education provider, has been selected to operate the Center for Children and Families (CCF) on the Cal State San Marcos campus. CCLC operates 138 childcare centers across the United States, including three in San Diego County.

A grant from the First 5 Commission of San Diego will fund construction of the 21,700-square-foot state-of-the-art facility, which is scheduled to open this fall. When CCF opens on campus, the Early Learning Center operated off-campus by Associated Students, Inc. will close.

“We are very excited about partnering with Cal State San Marcos to provide high-quality childcare for their students, faculty, staff and community,” said Fran Durekas, chief operating officer of Children’s Creative Learning Centers. “Cal State San Marcos is an example of an innovative organization that recognizes the importance of investing in early childhood programs that benefit their community.”
