Ingold sponsors Fourth of July fireworks show

FALLBROOK — Philanthropist Arlyne Ingold is a person who has lived up to her mother’s advice, given a long time ago. “You do the best you can,” said her mother, not realizing that her daughter’s best would make an enormous impact on the quality of life for residents of Fallbrook and Bonsall.

With rising costs for their annual July 4 fundraiser, the Fallbrook Beautification Alliance wondered if the event would raise any funds at all. Ingold stepped up and said she would underwrite the entire cost of the fireworks that will be enjoyed by the community. This valuable gift will enable the Beautification Alliance to maximize the money raised to benefit beautification and maintenance projects in the community.

“I wish everyone would embrace her spirit,” said Jerri Patchett, chairman of the July 4 committee.

Ingold believes events like the Grand Tradition Fourth of July are special because there are few events the whole family can attend.

“I love the fact that families need not drive for hours for a wonderful day topped off by fireworks,” Ingold said. “Events like this nurture our children and offer them an opportunity to get involved in the community.” Ingold said she loves to hear children’s excited voices as the fireworks explode overhead.

“They are thrilled by the fireworks,” she said. “To tell you the truth, so am I.”

Arlyne Ingold first came to the Fallbrook/Bonsall area 47 years ago with her husband Robert, four children and horses.
